Extraordinary times like these challenge us, but these also give us an opportunity to witness the best displays of Bayanihan as individuals, groups, and businesses step-up to help frontliners, communities, neighbors, and families by many acts of selflessness and generosity.
For its part, Eton Properties has actively taken steps to mitigate the impact of the virus where it can. The Company has institutionalized health & safety policies in its developments, implemented a business continuity plan to look after its employees and their families, and ran information campaigns to ensure communication of relevant and reliable information.
Prioritized health & safety of the community
As a real estate developer, Eton Properties recognizes its role in ensuring the health & safety of its office and commercial tenants, and residents.
High-contact areas in its properties are thoroughly cleaned and disinfected regularly. All building frontliners are required to wear face masks as a precautionary measure.
Social distancing is likewise enforced in its residential buildings, and commercial properties where people would purchase food and supplies. The Company has been limiting the number of passengers in its elevators by putting markers to guide people where to stand. In operational take-out restaurants and shops, 1-2 meters of social distancing is observed.
Additional safety measures are also in place such as pre-entry temperature checks, and provision of alcohol at building entrances.
Continuous assistance to stakeholders
To continue serving the community, Eton Properties has limited the operations of its commercial establishments to restaurants and stores offering basic necessities and services such as supermarkets, pharmacies, convenience stores, and banks until further notice. Select restaurants will be open for take-out and deliveries only. Safety precautions are being observed for these operational tenants.
In Eton Centris, Quezon City, the following essential stores remain open:
- SM Hypermarket
- ASSI Fresh Plaza
- Mini Stop
- Tokyo Tokyo (take-out and delivery only)
- Macao Imperial Tea (take-out and delivery only)
- The Generics Pharmacy
- Skin and Body by Medicard (pharmacy only)
- Cebuana Lhuillier
Maximizing awareness
In these challenging times, it’s important that people are updated of relevant and reliable information.
The Company has been proactively sending constant reminders and memos to tenants and residents about proper hygiene and social distancing measures. It is also encouraging its stakeholders to limit outside movements and opt for take-out and online deliveries.
It has also been increasing awareness on the preventive and precautionary measures that the building management has been undertaking to maintain a healthy environment in its properties to help ease the anxiety of its stakeholders.
Work-from-home with full-pay for employees
Eton Properties has set-up work-from-home arrangements to ensure that the Company still continues to function at this time. With this directive, Eton Properties aims to ensure that its employees continue to provide a living for their families while staying at home.
All regular, probationary, and project-based employees of Eton Properties are paid full salaries amid the enhanced community quarantine. On top of this, employees were given a pro-rated 13th month pay to help support the needs of their families.
Alongside these, Eton Properties’ sister companies in the LT Group – Asia Brewery, Inc., Tanduay Distillers, Inc., Philippine National Bank, PMFTC Inc.’s Embrace CSR program, and sister company Philippine Airlines have been assisting to help harness the impact of COVID-19 to its various stakeholders. Under the disaster-relief program dubbed as “Help Flows”, LT Group has donated 190,000 liters of ethyl alcohol, 200,000 liters of bottled water, and 2,000 pieces of N95 face masks to frontline health workers leading the fight against COVID-19.
In the collective fight to flatten the curve of COVID-19 cases in the country, the health & safety of tenants, guests, and stakeholders remain to be Eton Properties’ utmost priority.
